Telpaneca telecom centre is becoming a resource centre
May 22nd, 2012 - Telpaneca telecom community centre is becoming a key resource centre for the whole region! TSF is working on a rural development program for the region of Telpaneca with the creation of a dissemination and information network from Telpaneca centre to the farmers and cooperatives in the region. Being focal point of this network, the Telpaneca telecom centre disseminates crucial socio-economic data to various regional stakeholders.
Information sharing for rural development, Nicaragua
May 22nd, 2012 - In Nicaragua, the prices of basic foodstuffs (coffee, fertilizers…) vary from day to day. In this context, the cooperatives and their members need regular information to sell or buy their products at the best price. Information sharing is crucial for cooperatives and farmers. Télécoms Sans Frontières decided to participate in the development of the rural area of Miraflor by creating two agricultural information sharing networks.
A sat phone to support medical emergencies in Madagascar
In Madagascar to inaugurate the sixth community telecom center, TSF’s Director and President, Monique Lanne-Petit and Jean-François Cazenave, met with Christian Gros, the founder of the NGO Ar Mada, and provided him with a satellite phone IsatPhone Pro to support the activities of its organisation. TSF’s satellite phone provided to Ar Mada’s mobile medical teams will reinforce their response to medical emergencies by enabling them to organize the evacuation of priority patients and inform the nearest health centers and hospitals of their arrival (such as in Belo, or in Morondava).
TSF Telecom Centre in Madagascar: computer training
June 1st, 2012 - On February 29th 2012, Télécoms Sans Frontières, IT Cup and the partners of the project, inaugurated the telecom community centre of Miarinarivo, Madagascar. It is the sixth telecom community centre in the world to be opened by TSF.
